The University of Cape Town (UCT) has established mechanisms for tracking pay and remuneration practices across its workforce, and these mechanisms contribute to monitoring gender equity within its pay scales. UCT publishes its annual Employment Equity (EE) Plans which document workforce demographics, occupational levels, and employment categories by gender, race and disability status.

In addition, UCT’s published Cost of Employment (CoE) pay-class scales apply uniformly to all staff performing similar roles, thereby institutionalising equal pay for equivalent work and reducing the risk of gender-based pay disparities.
